Scientists discovered a new species of punk-rock-plumaged bird in an undiscovered bit of Andean cloud forest this week, and now the area is going to be a protected national park. Hoorah, little one! In a week filled with terrifying nuclear testing, an assassination of a journalist, and planecrash scares, Orhan Pamuk and this cool-ass bird were the only bright spots.
